More than 4,500 people were fined over ₹22 lakh between April 23 and May 4 for not wearing masks in Delhi amid COVID-19 pandemic, according to government data. The maximum number of fines were imposed in East district on 1,133 people followed by New Delhi at 705. “We are averaging around 100 challans per day,” a Southeast district official said.
