Why was Amar Jawan Jyoti merged with the flame at National War Memorial?
Amar Jawan Jyoti, which was lit to pay tribute to the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war martyrs, has been merged with National War Memorial’s flame. Giving the reason behind the ceremony, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra said it was fitting to pay homage to the martyrs at the memorial as it has “names of all Indian martyrs from all the wars, including 1971”.
