The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on Tuesday approved Serum Institute of India’s COVID-19 vaccine Covovax for use on children aged between seven and 12 years. This comes after a government panel had recommended emergency use of the vaccine for children above seven years. DCGI had approved the vaccine for the age group of 12-17 years in March.
