The European Union (EU) on Tuesday condemned the violence against anti-coup protesters in Sudan. EU Commission Vice-President Josep Borrell said repeated calls to Sudanese military to refrain from violence “have fallen on deaf ears”. This comes after a severe crackdown by security forces killed seven protesters on Monday. Sudan has plunged into crisis after a military coup in October 2021.
