. Indonesia and Singapore signed key agreements on extradition, defence and airspace on Tuesday. The extradition treaty will allow Jakarta to pursue high-profile Indonesian businessmen who were accused of embezzling money during the 1997-1998 financial crisis and reportedly fled to Singapore. The defence cooperation agreement is expected to boost Singapore’s ability to carry out naval exercises.
