Four-time FIFA World Cup champions Italy failed to qualify for 2022 edition of the tournament after losing to North Macedonia 0-1 in their qualifiers playoff semifinal. This is the second straight time Italy, the defending Euro champions, have failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup. “We’re all destroyed and broken but we’ve to start again,” Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini said.
