Karnataka deputy chief minister, DK Shivakumar, on Tuesday said that the state government has resolved to release 10 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.“I am again requesting for the construction of the Mekedatu project which is in the interest of both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government is not agreeing to take up the project. The project is in the interest of both the states,” Shivakumar said.
The Tamil Nadu government on Friday approached the Supreme Court to seek recourse for getting Cauvery water.
