On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Mumbai Police unveiled an idol of Lord Ganesha dressed as a police personnel. “The purpose behind bringing ‘Police Bappa’ is to create awareness among the people [about crime, traffic rules and cyber crimes],” Inspector Rajendra Kane said. ‘Police Bappa’ was welcomed at Vile Parle Police Station. Police also released a song on the occasion.
