US President Joe Biden has said that his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping “does not believe democracy can be sustained in the 21st century”. He added that Jinping believed that autocracies will succeed because “democracies don’t have time to arrive at consensus” as things move so “rapidly”. “I think we’re in a genuine struggle between autocracies and democracies,” he further said.
